The Situation

In 2013, Taleveras Group was involved in the US $260 Million acquisition of the Afam Power Plc Power Plant in Rivers State, one of the seventeen assets being privatised as part of the Nigerian Government’s privatisation of the country’s power generation and distribution networks.

The Solution

We were required to provide consulting and advisory services for the acquisition of the concession of Afam Power Plc.

Our Assistance

We offered strategic consulting and advisory services on procurement and PPP issues for an infrastructure project of this nature. In order to do this, we put together a multi-disciplinary team of competent experts to carry out the technical, commercial, financial and legal due diligence on the assets, as well as putting together and preparing a world class bid for the acquisition. We also carried out stakeholder consultations, sourced financial partners and investors, carried out post-bid negotiations with regulators on the client’s behalf, and ensured a seamless hand over of the asset.
